Measuring for a Curtain

Welcome to our simple guide to measuring your windows for new curtains.

Before you get started, you’ll need a tape measure (preferably metal), pen and paper. Please note that all measurements should be taken in millimetres (mm). If your flooring has not yet been installed, take this into consideration when measuring the drop size.

SIMPLE MEASURING

1) Measuring the width

Measure from the point where you want the Curtain Track to start and finish. We recommend that you overlap the window recess by at least 100mm on each side.

2) Measuring the drop

Measure the drop. We recommend that you overlap the window recess by at least 125mm at the top and measure where you want the curtain to finish.

2) Measuring the drop

Measure the drop in three places and use the smallest measurement. Our factory will make necessary deductions and the Curtain will finish approximately 10-15mm above the floor.

MEASURING BELOW CORNICE TO FLOOR AND WALL TO WALL

1) Measuring the width

Decide on the position of the curtain track. In this example, the track is positioned wall to wall and below the cornice. Then, measure at the top of the wall. Our factory will make deductions on the width by approx. 10-15mm.
